First, sorry this is a little rough, but I’m trying to type while watching the Super Bowl so this is a little rough and disjointed.
I don’t know about you, but I did 20 burpies just watching that spot. Seriously, kudos to the ad agency that Reebok got for this. This speaks to a lot of us who wake up early to hit the gym or go for that run in sometimes great weather and sometimes (like now), craptastic weather. That being said, people always ask what’s the big deal? Who are you trying to impress? What ‘mudder’ or instance distance race is this for? Those are the ones that this video is for. We don’t do it to be king of the mountain, we do it to be king of ourselves. We do it because at the end of the day we want to feel like we have done something with our lives, our body, our spiritual and mental self. We do it to be more human.
We run, jump, climb, bike, Crossfit, and just push ourselves because if we don’t who will? Okay, maybe that was a bit cliche? You get what I am saying. Sorry, a bit distracted, Seattle just got a touchdown.
I will be the first to say that you cannot take what I say to heart. I park the distance from the entrance to the grocery store. I lift and run five days a week. I have ran across Georgia two years straight. If you ask me why, I will ask you to push play and really listen to the ad.
Me? I’ll be doing another 20 burpies, I did have
three, okay, okay, five slices of pizza today.

I’m throwing down the gauntlet; “honor your body…sharpen your mind.”
